Rebates & Tariffs

There has never been a better time to invest in solar power. There are currently two rebates you can take advantage of – the Federal Government Solar Credits Scheme, and the Feed in Tariff, which varies from state to state.
The Federal Government Solar Credits Scheme:
The Federal Government scheme offers a rebate based on RECs (Renewable Energy Certificates), which fluctuate in value, depending on the stock market. Currently, you will receive 5 times the normal number of RECs for the first 1.5kW. This will be reduced to a multiplier of 4 on July 1st, 2011. To take the risk and hassle away from you, AgriSolar Australia offers this amount as a point of sale discount. Anyone can participate in this scheme, whether they are homeowners or businesses.
Example 1:
The rebate on a 1.5kW system could be as high as $7280, depending on your location in Australia.
Example 2:
A 10kW system could generate a generous rebate of $15,560, once again depending on where you live.
You can find out more about this rebate by visiting the Office of the Renewable Energy Regulator (ORER) website.
State Feed in Tariffs
In addition to the Solar Credits Scheme, you will also be paid a Feed In Tariff. This is an amount per kilowatt for either all the electricity your solar system returns to the grid (gross feed in tariff), or some (net feed in tariff), depending on your state or territory's scheme.
